What type of clay BOdy do you use?
I work with many different clay bodies, depending on the project at hand. I tend to enjoy stoneware that has some amount of grit in it, though equally, I enjoy the purity and complexity (read as challenge) of working in porcelain.
At What temperature is the clay fired?
The firing temperature depends on which clay body I have chosen, as well as the type of project. I enjoy firing to cone 10 (approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.) in a gas reduction kiln most, but I also work at lower temperatures, mostly at cone 6 these days.
